Pictish Eagle pendant

In Celtic lore, the eagle represented wisdom and power.

This piece is based on the Clach an Tiompain ('The Eagle Stone') of Strathpeffer, Scotland dated from the 7th century AD. Of the twelve know Pictish carvings this stone is the best known and best preserved. The engraved eagle is displayed with folded wings detailed beak, feathers, and talons. Above the eagle is an ornamental arch.

This pendant is sterling silver set with Bruneau Jasper, which was mined from the Bruneau River Canyon in Idaho. The pendant comes on an 18" medium rolo.
