Trinity Knot (Triquetra) Jewelry
The Trinity Knot, or triquetra (from the Latin triquetrus, "three-cornered"), is the best known and most loved of all Celtic knots. This simplest of knots weaves a single cord into an endless path with three arcs, three corners, and three crossings. First appearing in 7th-century manuscripts like the Book of Kells, the triquetra symbol was named by Dr. George Petrie in 1845 and is widely interpreted as a symbol of the Holy Trinity.
The triquetra meaning extends beyond Christian tradition: past, present, and future; body, mind, and soul; the wedding vows to love, honor, and protect. Our triquetra jewelry collection includes trinity knot pendants, necklaces, earrings, rings, and Celtic crosses in sterling silver and 14K gold, each handcrafted in our Andover, NY workshop.
