Large Celtic Moth Pendant with Gemstone
The moth's body and wings are rendered in Celtic zoomorphic knotwork, the interlace strands flowing outward into pointed wingtips. In the zoomorphic tradition, animal forms become the vocabulary of interlace, and the moth carries associations of change and growth. A 5mm gemstone is bezel-set at the center body: choose lab alexandrite or amethyst. Antiqued recesses bring out the depth of the knotwork detail.
