Pictish Key Pattern Ring in Sterling Silver
Where Celtic knotwork follows flowing, interlaced curves, the key pattern takes a different path: strictly angular, rectilinear, built from right-angle turns that meander in a continuous, unbroken loop around the band. This ancient design tradition appears on Pictish stones and in the great Insular manuscripts - the Book of Kells, the Ardagh Chalice - predating many of the knotwork patterns more commonly associated with Celtic jewelry today. This ring is 7mm wide, the middle of three available widths.
