Born in 521 A.D. in County Donegal, this Irish missionary left his homeland in 563 A.D. to establish a monastery on the isle of Iona in Scotland. From that sacred place, he converted Picts, ordained kings, and fostered the artistic traditions that define Celtic faith and heritage. His legacy shaped the Church of Scotland and Christian traditions throughout the Celtic lands. This pectoral cross honors his spiritual mission and enduring influence.
