Pictish Key Pattern Ring in Gold
This 7mm gold band carries a Pictish key pattern running continuously around the ring — a geometric design built from angular, right-angle meanders rather than the curved loops of knotwork. Key patterns appear throughout early Celtic and Pictish stone carvings and illuminated manuscripts, where their precise, maze-like structure gave them a visual weight distinct from interlace. The result here is a bold, architectural band with a strong linear character.
